OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Pre-Commissioning Equipment Technical Support Specialist is accountable for the Pre-Commissioning (Pre-Comm) Flowline and Umbilical Equipment selection for project operations, ensuring that they are selected to optimize operation performance, maximized safety and availability at optimized cost, and that all owned equipment is managed according to Subsea 7 equipment assurance policy during project operations.
The role is accountable for contributing to the development of all Subsea 7’s policies and procedures.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
- Primary responsibility is for the management and supervision of Pre-Commissioning Equipment selection to ensure safe and reliable operation in compliance with legislation, company procedures and industry guidance.
- Technical Authority for the Management, operations, maintenance, upgrades, and modifications of the equipment selected for Pre-Commissioning operations.
- Be familiar with and understand the requirements of industry Guidance relevant to Mobile equipment.
- Liaise with Projects, Vessel Operational Managers and equipment/workshop group to identify propose and schedule Technician requirements.
- Assist in setting and adhering to the annual equipment OPEX and CAPEX budget with Stakeholders.
- Active participation in all aspects of Pre-Comm equipment quality audits.
- Participate and organize audits for with areas of authority as required.
- Compliance with the requirements of the Subsea 7 BMS.
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of all documentation relating to the safe operation and reliability of Pre-Comm equipment.
- Participate in the specification, design and management of new equipment building, major modification and major overhauls as required by management.
- Manage third party contractors, ensuring their compliance with Subsea 7 requirements.
- Support the management and development with Crewing for Technician Supervisors to ensure competence in the operation and maintenance of Pre-Comm Equipment.
- Provide technical support to projects and other departments as required.
- Develops self and encourage development of others related to this discipline.
- Manages and reviews sub-contracts for the area of responsibility.
- Participates in relevant global / regional initiatives as and when required.
- Assist in close out assigned Synergy actions in a timely manner.
- Identify Technical and Site Training requirements as per Reporting Department Training Matrix.
- Any other duties as directed by the Operations Support Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- A technical engineering background with considerable offshore equipment subsea experience is essential as is the ability to understand and implement equipment application requirements.
- You will have considerable man management experience onshore and offshore and have the ability to collate, understand and implement working/ task programs
- Pleasant disposition with the capability to be authoritative when necessary.
- Strong co-ordination, organization and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues.
- The ability to understand interface relationship between marine, project personnel and the client.
- Able to communicate effectively and articulately at all levels within the industry.
- Previous experience of different operational technical requirements.
- Capable of influencing technical decisions relative to the equipment owned and managed by the equipment group.
KNOWLEDGE
- Educated to a preferred degree level in either Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, but experience may be considered.
- Relevant offshore technical experience at a supervisory level in the operation and
maintenance of Subsea Systems and Equipment.
