The Database Team Lead is responsible for day-to-day governance and performance management of databases and systems. This role will assist in developing and implementing the strategic direction by creating standards and policies for all database implementations. The position will work with the infrastrcture teams to ensure that all database maintenance tasks and upgrades are performed regularly and with limited downtime.
Essential Functions:
The Database Team Lead is responsible for day-to-day governance and performance management of databases and systems. Essential Functions:
- Responsibility for Database security/maintenance and stability (monitoring, patching, testing) and daily operations.
- Assigning and tracking work assigned to offshore database resources.
- Creating automation and improving systems / processes.
- Participation in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery with Database Backups and Restores.
- Working with engineers & project teams to design database systems.
- Assisting team members as a senior technical resource.
- Train technical staff
- Bachelors Degree Preferred -Technology, SQL Servers, Server management
- 5 years Experience
- Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining on-premise and Azure PaaS SQL databases required.
- Experience managing Postgres, CosmosDB and Redshift preferred.
- Strong scripting and and automation skills strongly preferred.
- Experience configuring of monitoring and alerting.
- Ability to set standards and guidelines.
