What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Baker position at Sugar Bakery?
We are looking for a production baker to prepare cupcake and cake batters. (No decorating involved in this position.) To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker, have worked in a commercial kitchen or hold a culinary school degree and be willing to master repetitive baking.
Responsibilities
- 8a.m.-3p.m., Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri.
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
- Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare batter
- Able to follow a recipe
- Prepare large batches of cupcake and cake batters continuously throughout shift (No decorating involved.)
- Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
- Able to life 50lbs and stand on your feet for the duration of the shift
- Wash your own dishes
- Sweep and mop workspace
- Maintain an organized work environment
Skills
- Experience as a Baker or similar role
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens and blenders
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 26 – 32 per week
