The anticipated salary range for this role is between $154,000.00and $195,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

- Define conceptual approaches and provide solutions architecture for key credit card journeys.
- Define the strategy for Digital Engineering and Platform engineering, work cross functionally to ensure key stakeholders, business and product requirements are aligned.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Credit Card platform and provide industry best solutions.
- Collaborate with technology teams and partners to select appropriate design solutions.
- Verifies stability, inter-operability, portability, security, and scalability of system architecture.
- Identifying integration point and patterns between design areas across the stack (UI, APIs, security, database, etc.)
- Collaborate and communicate across business and technology teams.
- Identifying and championing the creation and use of common services and components
- Innovates on and advocates for best engineering practices and improved processes within the team and leads by example.
- Communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences -technical, as well as business.
- Stays current with technology trends.
- Lead and mentor other junior engineering colleagues
- Document system Architecture design and lead reviews with IT governance
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign equivalent)
- Preferred Education: STEM Master's degree is a plus.
- 10 years of hands-on technology experience
- 6 years of experience in solution architecture.
- 4 years of credit card platform architecture experience leveraging multiple enterprise technologies.
- Experience working with cloud-based 3rd Party service providers.
- Experience and/ or certification with Microsoft Azure & Amazon AWS cloud architecture & services
- Hands-on experience in Microservices architecture and cloud-based API integrations
- Experience in web and mobile apps architecture.
- Experience in container-based development and orchestration such as Docker/Kubernetes etc.
- Experience in building highly available large-scale enterprise-wide systems collaborating with technology and product teams.
- Experience is orchestrating integrations with various systems internal and 3rd party systems.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Visionary mindset with the ability to innovate and drive digital transformation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
