Summary:
Responsible for transporting patients to and from the radiology areas. Assists medical and technical staff in routine daily activities. Helps with all image and medical record assembly as requested. Retrieves and compiles images and appropriate paperwork and utilizes appropriate equipment for processing of images correctly through digitizer/CAD for report interpretations as needed. Responsible for utilizing RIS for all imaging tracking and procedure activity.
Formal Education Required:
a. High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience and Training Required:
a. Initiate CPR heart saver Certification
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians and hospital employees.
b. Proven ability to read and write English and follow written instructions
c. Ability to pass medical vocabulary exam administered by Human Resources.
d. Ability to efficiently and accurately file in terminal digit or alphabetical order.
e. Must be able to use computer systems and basic Window applications, including proficiency with a mouse and bar code reader.
f. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment, ability to use imaging digitizer, perform daily maintenance, and place films on alternators, as needed.
g. Ability to calmly handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
h. Recognizes emergency situations.
i. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
