Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join our team. The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and arranging food in accordance to Summit's guidelines. This individual will not only understand and utilize proper food safety protocol, but will also exercise caution when utilizing kitchen utensils and equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Live by the “Golden Rule” and work with other associates to build a strong team atmosphere
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Arrange and portion food according to established guidelines
- Safe utilization of utensils including knives
- Adhere to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive attitude
- Work with a diverse work population
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, based on the business needs of your location
- Authorized to work in the United States
Experience:
- Food preparation experience including: Measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
- Using and cleaning equipment and materials for food preparation and cleanup
- Ability to follow direction regarding food preparation, storage and safety
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing, walking & bending, as well as occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs
