Job Summary:
The Ready Mix Plant Manager at Peak Ready Mix is responsible for the daily safe operation of the ready mix batch plant and drivers. The plant manager should exhibit safety practices in everyday actions. The plant manager should also exhibit technical knowledge pertaining to concrete QC so that adjustments can be made on the fly in order deliver in spec concrete. Lastly, the plant manager is responsible for the ordering/inventory tracking of all raw materials necessary for the daily operations of the batch plant. The position is located in Grand Junction, CO.
Position Responsibilities:
The position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Daily startup, batching, and shutdown of concrete batch plant
Regular maintenance and upkeep of the batch plant
Efficiently manage drivers to ensure on-time delivery of concrete loads to customers
Daily/weekly/monthly inventory control
Embody, embrace, and drive the company’s safety culture and general direction
Knowledge of concrete properties and what influences them
Position Requirements:
General mechanical aptitude for pneumatic systems, conveyors, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, fixed plant equipment, etc.
Must be able to operate a front end loader.
High School Diploma required
College education preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of mixer trucks and DOT hours of service
Mental Aptitudes:
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculating ratios, and calculating percentages
Basic computer aptitude and skills.
Ability to make decisions on the fly with available knowledge on various situations
Ability to cope and maintain composure in high-stress situations
Ability to embrace change
Physical Aptitudes:
Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work fluctuating and odd hours as needed
Ability to work overtime
Ability to work in extreme cold and also hot temperatures
Ability to lift heavy weights on a regular basis (50 lbs)
Ability to work on unlevel and soft surfaces, standing, kneeling, and squatting.
