The Credentialing Coordinator role is responsible for facilitating and compiling the credentialing and re-credentialing files in the surgery centers.
Facilitates required documents for credentialing, including initial appointment, reappointment and assists the Credentialing Specialist in monitoring the expirable process, needed for privileging of providers.
The Education Coordinator assists the Staff Development / Education Coordinator to develop, assess, plan, implement and evaluate education and orientation of all surgery center staff.
This includes assisting in the writing of program content, presenting education materials, maintaining supporting documents and files.
This is a full time role tentatively based at our Eagan Surgery Center (subject to change). Scheduled day hours are Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts.
Flexibility to float to all Surgery Centers as needed.
Position Responsibilities :
- Assist Staff Development / Education Coordinator in development and conducting of in-service training programs to surgery center personnel to improve care processes, enhancing staff development, and adherence to Best Practice(s) to ensure patient safety.
- Coordinates, facilitates, with Staff Development, Education Coordinator the orientation program and other educational programs to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory guidelines.
- Prepares required documents and conducts surgery center orientation.
- Verify immunization records and immune status test results to assure employee compliance with policy.
- Tracks Employee Flu / COVID Vaccine annual process and compliance.
- Assist in facilitation of annual required learning for the organization.
- Tracks staff compliance with the educational requirements, ensures staff education records are up to date.
- Assists Staff Development / Education Coordinator with form edits / revisions and maintenance.
- Assists in preparation of credentialed files for presentation to the Governing Board, ensuring file completion within time periods specified.
- Processes requests for privileges, ensuring compliance with criteria outlined in clinical privilege descriptions.
- Assist Credentialing and Education Specialist in preparation of reappointment and expirable process for all medical staff, Allied Health Professional staff, and delegated providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies (Joint Commission, CMS, federal and state), as well as Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies and procedures, and delegated contracts.
- Assists Credentialing and Education Specialist in monitoring credentials calendar / professional staff roster / continuous credentials maintenance.
- Assists Credentialing and Education Specialist to track the expiration of certifications to maintain up-to-date files.
