TITLE: Lube Logistics Manager
LOCATION: Houston, TX
POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Lubricant Operations
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; some overtime and some weekends may be required.
INTERNAL TRANSFERS: To qualify for an internal transfer at Sun Coast, you must have been in your current position for a minimum of one year and be in good standing. Internal applicants should notify their supervisor or manager of their interest in the new position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee the daily operations of the dispatch department, ensuring optimal efficiency, effective routing of trucks and personnel ensuring on time deliveries
* Manage and monitor the performance of dispatch staff, providing training and guidance to improve productivity and service
* Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards across all dispatch activities
* Respond to escalated issues or complaints, resolving problems swiftly and maintaining positive relationships with customers and staff
* Coordinate with other departments such as sales, customer service, and terminal managers to align dispatch activities with overall business objectives
* Ensure dispatchers are regularly monitoring driver performance and mitigating inefficiencies within their control
* Continuously assess and improve logistics processes, identifying areas for cost reduction, performance enhancement, and risk mitigation
* Contribute to fostering a positive team culture that encourages open communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement
* Responsible for reviewing employee performance, coaching and progressive discipline, addressing complaints and resolving problems
* Responsible for maintaining dispatch and driver scheduling to ensure adequate coverage
* Ensure customer requirements and procedures are communicated to dispatch and drivers and customer expectations are met
* Enforce and support all company policies and procedures
* Other related tasks and projects as assigned by manager
REQUIREMENTS
* Must be local (live within 60 miles)
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in dispatch management, dispatch operations or a related field
* Proven experience in managing a team of dispatchers or coordinators
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team
* Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure
* Ability to understand and interpret data to improve dispatching operations
* Capacity to train and evaluate staff performance effectively
* Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage complex situations
* Demonstrated experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Professional & ethical demeanor
* Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods
* Experience using transportation management software and tools, such as route planning software, safety, and vehicle telematics
* Strong understanding of transportation regulations and legal guidelines

* Experience in the fuel and/or transportation industry
