Sun Health is looking for a big-hearted, invested, and thorough Accounts Receivable Manager to join our vibrant team at our Administration Office in Surprise, AZ.
Statement of Purpose: This position will manage the accounts receivable functions of the Finance department that report up through the VP of Accounting and Financial Reporting. Duties include the supervision of the accounts receivable staff, review of AR aging, managing billing and collections, ensuring accurate accounting on a GAAP basis of the accounts receivable/revenue cycles, and coordination with the Accounting Team regarding cash management.

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages all accounts receivable aspects of the organization, including billing, collection, and cash posting for the organization.
- Leads the AR team that communicates with residents, insurance, and other payors to resolve any billing issues and any discrepancies on payments to ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue generation.
- Monitors the monthly accounts receivable aging reports and works with department leadership, and the communities to ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Ensures monthly cash receipts for AR are reconciled to deposits in the bank.
- Assists the Accounting Team with regards to cash management including but not limited to upcoming payments and receivables.
- Ensures that accurate and timely information is provided for monthly and year-end accounting.
- Works with accountants to ensure that the AR subledgers are balanced and agree to the general ledger.
- Coordinates with team members to ensure the proper completion of financial reports for month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing and as needed for compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Responsible for managing and completing the annual audit for their areas of responsibility.
- Assists with the coordination of the work of the Accounting Team that reports to the VP of Accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Manages the preparation of the annual Medicare cost reports and ensures they are filed on a timely basis.
- Manages Medicare and cost report audits and ensures accurate and timely response to such audits.
- Manages all state and local sales tax filings. Applies for new sales and use tax licenses.
- Participates in the review, analysis and implementation of corporate procedures and methodologies to improve efficiencies and ensure compliance.
- Develops and implements other appropriate policies and procedures as necessary.
- Provides all customers of Sun Health with an excellent service experience.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, preferred.
- 5 years of related work experience in an accounts receivable function with at least 3 years in a supervisor capacity. Experience should include 2-3 years of experience in skilled nursing billing (including insurance and Medicare).
- Experience with PointClickCare billing software preferred, or proficiency with other similar billing software.
- Must be proficient in Excel.
- Nonprofit experience preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
