Sun Health is looking for a big-hearted, invested, and thorough Director of Resident Services to join our vibrant team at The Colonnade in Surprise, AZ.
Statement of Purpose: The Director of Resident Services is responsible for managing resident health and wellbeing to ensure the residents remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. They act as a point of contact for the residents in Independent Living. A professional goal is to help residents attain their highest level of health, independence, and emotional well-being.
Within the framework of delegated authority, and consistent with Sun Health Senior Living policy and procedures, the position assures a quality program of services, a sound fiscal operation and good management of all internal and external affairs, thereby providing a single point of accountability for all activities.

Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, hire, and train, evaluate, discipline, and supervise the department team members.
- Available to answer questions and/or solve resident problems as they arise. This involves a great deal of walk-in traffic from residents and family members.
- Assists residents with the move in and move out process. Keeps team members advised of resident location when outside facility. Works closely with residents who are transitioning their living environment.
- Responsible for creating, monitoring, and maintaining the Resident Service goals
- Chair of the Campus Health Care Committee. Meets with resident's family member prior to meeting and sends appropriate letter to family member and physician in conjunction with Health Services. Maintains the minutes, Health Care Committee matrix, unit forecast and meeting agenda.
- Keeps abreast of community services available to residents and coordinates with said services when necessary.
- Coordinates the assignment, transfer and relinquishing of resident and employee parking spaces with proper information to billing and Customer Service personnel.
- Ensures department properly tracks and manages: the resident wait lists for parking and storage; maintains the manager and director funeral rotation schedule; and maintains the Pet Maintenance Agreement.
- Facilitates the New Resident Orientation.
- Ensures all unwanted resident property is dealt with according to company and campus policies and guidelines.
- Maintains the resident Electric Powered Mobility Devices Agreement and Liability documents.
- Assists residents with medical decisions relating to their health care.
- Update the resident handbook as needed.
- Available to answer resident questions and assist in resolving resident issues and concerns.
- Responsible for keeping accurate record of days towards the resident's life care contracts.
- Facilitate the Independent Living Skills assessment, and the Fall Risk assessment.
- Facilitate resident move out. Available to assist family members with move out information and processes. Responsible for the collection of unit keys, post office keys, recreation center cards and pendant returns upon move out.
- Medical approval for all new residents.
Qualifications:
- LPN or RN with Valid Arizona nursing license required
- Previous supervisory experience
- Nursing background necessary
- Possess current or has the ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required

Salary : $78,800 - $90,534
