Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role will report to the Director of our Technical Services team and will play a key role as subject matter expert in the development, build-out, and launch of our expanded EDI capabilities specific to integrated Absence Management (FMLA, ADA, PFL, PFML). This position will work in conjunction with IT, business, and project team members to ensure EDI-related functions and technologies are accurately represented in all phases.
The individual in this role will work as a key member of our data exchange team to:
- Serve as the EDI subject matter expert, providing guidance specific to the handling of client data and the connectivity necessary between file feeds, claims applications, data stores, reporting, and security.
- Play a key role in the development of business planning necessary to deliver a consultative, flexible, and smooth implementation experience for plan sponsors, vendors and SLF.
- Provide key design insights related to plan sponsor eligibility and historical & takeover files.
- Represent the EDI team in project meetings, elaborations, and capability definitions.
The essential functions and responsibilities of this job position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with operational and cross-functional teams to develop and execute operational plans, programs and technology solutions to support an integrated enrollment, eligibility, payroll, claims management and interchange of data experience for our Clients..
- Understand and articulate file structures that are compatible with Sun Life product offerings, ease the process of doing business with our company, and are market competitive in flexibility and design.
- Provide consultation, where necessary, to our Clients for initial file development and help facilitate timely resolution of processing errors.
- Maintain all appropriate documentation relating to the specification layout, communicates changes broadly to all key stakeholders
- Support the development of processes that result in quality outcomes within timing and accuracy standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and create efficiency opportunities for support. Support efforts with requirements gathering and testing.
- Works with project team members to develop core capabilities in large-case file feed and reporting needs.
- Ensure the expedient handling of concerns from plan sponsors, third party administrators and broker partners
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience in group benefits, including Absence Management-related offerings, is required.
- Bachelors' degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-10 years EDI related experience required
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills with ability to represent Sun Life effectively with Sr. leadership
- Ability to quickly build credibility within an organization and work with team members across the organization
- Computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS Office Products.
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to travel moderately up to 10%

Southern region: $68,300-$102,500 Central region: $72,000-$108,100 Northern region: $77,000-$115,600#LI-remote
If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $65,200-$97,900 annually.
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $77,000-$115,600 annually.
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $72,000-$108,100 annually.
