Description
This position is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with our grower member community through frequent communication, field visits, reporting and attendance at various trainings and events. Must provide knowledgeable customer service to coop members on organizational and industry developments, research, deliveries, and field management through timely updates and/or obtaining answers to member questions. Will be required to bring field and industry intelligence back to management. Will be responsible for coordinating research initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for growers, offering assistance and guidance.
• Provide timely responses to grower inquiries and manage accounts.
• Monitor quality standards through incoming deliveries and review to determine trends.
• Evaluates technology for growers, discerning its practicality and potential benefits through strategic analysis.
• Provide support to growers through technical assistance and training programs.
• Collect and analyze data from field trials, experiments, and grower surveys to identify trends and patterns.
• Evaluate new technologies, equipment, and crop varieties to determine their suitability for raisin production.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports detailing research findings.
• Collaborate with agricultural scientists, universities, and research institutions to stay abreast of latest developments.
• Attend grower and stakeholder meetings as needed.
Requirements
• BS degree in an Ag Business, Agricultural Science, Viticulture, or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Willing to develop and/or obtain various certifications including but not limited to: Private Applicator License, Pest Control Advisory (PCA), Crop Advisor Certification (CCA) or other applicable certifications.
• Proven project management abilities, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute initiatives.
• Field specific knowledge in viticulture, agronomy, hydrology, agriculture science, or pesticides preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-drive with a strong ability to work independently.
• Strategic and conceptual thinking with the ability to plan, organize, and execute.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Knowledge of vineyard activity and growing cycles.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving
