PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Marketing Representative is responsible for seeking, establishing, and maintaining successful relationships with the referring community in his/her territory as assigned by the EVP of Marketing and Administration. The Representative is a conduit between the community and the company and his/her actions will contribute to the achievement of company goals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Achieve or exceed objectives set by management annually
• Establish a territory management plan
• Submit daily/weekly call reports to your reporting manager
• Establish and continually foster relationships with existing and potential referring physicians and their staff.
• Seek out new physician offices/groups to contact.
• Visit existing and potential clients. Provide and fully explain marketing materials presented during the visit.
• Review and fully explain the information provided in the SHC first-time referral package to new or potential clients.
• Educate the referring community about developments in our imaging technology, e.g., new or improved equipment and/or studies available, and the advantages to them and their patients.
• Invite clients to educational lunches, dinners or social/recreational events. Coordinate and facilitate educational seminars and conferences for internal staff and/or for the physicians in the referring community.
• Participate with other SHC Marketing Representatives to call on a specific region of physician offices and groups on a specified day and time (a.k.a. a Marketing Blitz).
• Track and monitor referral volume and identify current trends.
• Update Competitive Survey Report on a regular basis.
• Update the SHC Marketing Database as changes occur.
• Participate in weekly conference calls and monthly meetings with SHC Marketing team to report on progress and outstanding items.
• Attend center monthly staff meetings to report on marketing initiatives and to relay comments from the referring community, if applicable.
• Attend and fully participate in bi-annual Marketing Strategy Review Meetings
• Retrieve and respond to voicemail messages regularly throughout the day. Retrieve and respond to email messages on a regular basis, but at least once daily
• Responsible for accurate and timely expense reporting
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
B.A. or B.S., concentration in Business, Economics, Healthcare Administration or Marketing.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Prior medical sales experience preferred
• Experience with PACS technology preferred
• Skilled in written and verbal communications. Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Skilled in tactful persuasion.
• Skilled in the use of automated computer systems and software applications.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work under pressure and deadlines.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule, which at times will involve evenings and weekends
• Must be an organized self-starter
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to utilize computer and telephone systems.
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle for short or long periods.
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance or a reliable transportation plan.
Employee is responsible for making employer aware of status change of license, insurance or transportation plan.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
This position requires extensive interaction with employee’s at all organizational levels, and extensive interaction with outside sources, including physicians and their staff members, media representatives, conference and event coordinators, etc.
