As a Shop Foreman, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a shop, including fabrication, valve automation, mechanic, and machinist. You will be responsible for supervising a team, ensuring that work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Your strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities will contribute to the success of the shop and the satisfaction of our customers .
- Directly supervises, trains, and coordinates the activities of shop personnel.
- Understands and communicates safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety, while identifying the needs for crew safety training with responsibility and accountability for the safety of the crews under their direction.
- Allocate work assignments to technicians and ensure that work is performed in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed repairs to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Provide technical solutions and design implementations for products and services. Performs routine analysis, calculations, and recommends changes. Diagnoses and reports malfunctions.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair projects, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are available and utilized efficiently.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills to improve shop operations.
- Learns and understands technical equipment; attends training and completes certification as required.
- Completes required documentation, forms, etc. for job at hand (i.e., JSA, Vehicle Inspections, Equipment Inspections, etc.)
- Collaborate with other departments or teams, such as parts procurement or customer service, to facilitate smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Accountable for the preparation of reports as required by branch and customers. Performs other duties, as assigned.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Previous 5 years HDPE experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to apply effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
- Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).
- May requires overnight travel more than 10% of the time. Must be able to be on call at times and work overtime when needed.
Salary : $60,200 - $76,300
