Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, commissioning, and fault finding of commercial solar installations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on commercial solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct commissioning activities for new solar installations, including system testing and verification.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with solar PV systems, including electrical and mechanical faults.
- Repair and replace faulty components in solar installations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and system performance.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical, renewable energy, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar PV system maintenance, commissioning, and fault finding.
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment for solar PV systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to solar PV installations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP, OSHA) are a plus.
