Summary:
SunPower is looking for an Interconnection Coordinator to perform the important role of interface between SunPower and utilities on behalf of our residential customers to satisfy all requirements of interconnecting to the Grid. Interconnection Coordinators are primarily responsible for communicating with utilities and as needed, will communicate with customers and internal/external stakeholders to obtain required documentation. The Interconnection Coordinator is viewed as the SME as it relates to understanding and achieving all requirements for interconnection approval as required by the utility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as the single point of contact for utility communication
Manage expectations of interconnection approval timelines and proactively communicate to operations when/if the timelines change
Serve as the primary customer advocate to achieve interconnection approval from the utility
Act as the SME resource for assigned region/utilities, holistic understanding of utility parameters
Perform Go to Market (GTM) utility interconnection research to explore the various requirements
Manage onboarding documentation for the Sales team, as well as process initial utility interconnection applications for submissions for preliminary and Permission to Operate approvals
Problem solve as needed by using critical thinking skills to push action items through to resolution without supervision
Collaborate with Project Coordinator Team as interconnection tasks need special attention
Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders as well as customers through respect, empathy, effective communication and being well organized.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two plus years of Project or Account Management experience
Required Qualifications:
Experience in residential home improvement project coordination or project management
Proven customer service background
Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience using a CRM and/or project management software
You must be curious, always seeking to learn more and understand
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. / B.A. degree and minimum 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
Technical knowledge of solar system installations
NABCEP certification is a plus
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for working hours
Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable method
Able to position and move objects up to 10 pounds
Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
The position requires travel with the potential of overnight stays between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Less than or equal to 10% travel.
Day to day work is completed in the office at personal computer M-F, first shift hours
Ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines, telephones, but occasionally may be above average for portions of the business day
