Sunrise is a small business owned by two individuals who share a passion for teaching surfing and a commitment to supporting their local community. We are currently looking for a manager to run our day-to-day camp operations. Your duties as a director include, effectively managing 20 staff, maintaining a safe environment, scheduling staff/clients, customer relations, and running a smooth camp operation. Camp operations include check-in and check-out, daily opening and closing procedures, all-camp activities (surf time, game time, and lesson time), ocean supervision and safety, and snack & lunch supervision, and programming.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate is in touch with the local surf community and the ocean. We are looking for people with surf and ocean lifeguard experience who like working with kids. You must be;

- Lifeguard certified

- Able to read the ocean well

- CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified by start of camp

- Familiar with excel

- A great communicator with staff and families

- Flexible to meet changing needs and demands of operations

- A team leader

- Eager and excited to work at the beach

- Able to work June through the end of August without interruption

Hours and Schedule

As a Sunrise Camp director, you will spend most of your hours at the beach. Camp starts the first week in June and goes till the end of August. We require full-time (40 hour weeks) starting May 30th until September 9th. Some weeks you may work more than 40 hours, some less. Flexibility is key. Paid training will start during the weekends in late April and go till June. Summer hours will be Monday through Friday 8 am- 3:30 pm with occasional computer work. During the off-season, we will have part-time managerial work if interested but it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate is someone who's looking to grow a long-term relationship with us and the location.

Compensation

We at Sunrise want to make sure those who are brand ambassadors are taken care of well. This position is paid by a weekly salary. In addition to an industry-leading salary, Sunrise will give performance and growth-based bonuses.
