Summary/Objective
Super-Sod, the leading provider of sod in the Southeast, is seeking an experienced Farm Equipment Operator to join our expanding team in Orangeburg, SC!
Under limited supervision, a Farm Equipment Operator performs work of moderate difficulty in the operation of various mechanical farm equipment, such as tractors and sod harvesters; performs related farm and harvesting work as assigned.
Essential Functions

- Operates various mechanical farming equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, sod harvesters, combines and irrigation equipment.
- Operates towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust and spray fields.
- Performs inspection and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, buildings and facilities.
- Adjust, repair and service farm machinery and notify supervisor or farm manager when machinery malfunctions.
- Mix specified materials and dump materials or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
- Participates in construction/maintenance projects.
- May train new staff or act as lead worker.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has limited supervisory responsibilities including new hire training.
Work Environment
This job operates in exposure to direct sunlight and weather 90% of the time. [List frequently used equipment] While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Typical/Expected Hours of Work
Winter/Fall: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM · Spring/Summer: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
