We are looking to hire a Barber Instructor to teach our students the skills needed to enter the hair care and grooming industry. In this role, you will be responsible for learning and adapting the course curriculum, teaching students the various techniques of a barber.

To ensure success as a Barber Instructor, you should have extensive experience working as a professional Barber. You must also possess a natural talent for teaching, and good interpersonal skills. A top-class Barber Instructor takes a hands-on approach with their teaching, ensuring that every student gets the required knowledge they need to succeed in the barber industry.

Barber Instructor Responsibilities:

• Learning and adapting the course curriculum.
• Setting out lesson plans.
• Ordering stock supplies for each course.
• Teaching students the skills of the barber trade.
• Facilitating all test and examinations from final to practical.
• Grading tests.
• Mentoring students and providing emotional support.
• Overseeing examinations and final practical tests.
• Providing course feedback to the college or technical school.

Barber Instructor Requirements:

• 3 years of previous work experience as a barber instructor.

· Teaching new techniques and skills to students, such as how to perform basic haircuts or how to give a shampoo and conditioner treatment

· Meeting with students individually to assess their progress and performance

· Reviewing student work to ensure compliance with safety regulations

· Supervising students during on-the-job training, including providing feedback on performance and answering questions about the work environment

· Conducting training sessions for new staff members on the latest hair styles and trends

· Conducting teacher development workshops to help instructors improve their teaching skills

· Managing a team of barbers, cosmetologists, and other salon staff members to provide services to clients

· Demonstrating new techniques and educating students on the fundamentals of barbering, such as how to shave, how to perform facials, how to use clippers, how to use scissors, etc.

· Participating in continuing education programs to keep up with industry trends and advancements in technology

Barber Certifications:

• Instructor Barber License
• Master Hair Care License
• Certification must be from an accredited organization

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $9.00 - $21.70 per hour

• Greer, SC 29650: Relocate before starting work (Required)
