Job Title: Accounting Associate
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary of Functions:
The role of the Accounting Associate consists of many accounting duties within the department. The job duties may include posting cash receipts, entering incoming wire information, entering outgoing wires, placing stop payments and the reissue of checks, researching any issues, resolving any issues, responding to questions and any other duties assigned to s/he by the Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Accounting Associate may include but are not limited to the following:
- Processing Cash Receipts in the title application system.
- Receiving and distributing accounting requests from personnel to the appropriate Accounting
Associate to handle the request.
- Receiving Outgoing Wire requests from personnel and entering and processing the Outgoing
Wire in a timely manner in the on-line banking system.
- Monitor the expected Incoming Wire list with Bank notification of receipt of Incoming Wire.
Update the title application system in a timely manner of all received incoming wires.
- Receive all Stop Payment and other check processing requests from personnel and process and maintain these requests in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the daily bank deposits. Receives the trust and all other deposits, makes copies of all trust and other account deposits, and prepares for deposit at financial institution.
- Daily Escrow transfers, Recording transfers and Weekly and Monthly Fee Transfers.
- Responsible for dealing directly with bank personnel to add/remove signers, open/close accounts, deal with account issues, handling fraud investigation issues.
- Performs any other duties as requested by the Controller.

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of Accounting Experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent Excel skills
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office; a fax machine; a copier/scanning machine; and a multi-line telephone. Additionally, the individual should exhibit proficiency in accounting software programs and spreadsheet applications
