What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at Surface Engineering?
This position oversees all daily Human Resources operations, including but not limited to hiring, benefits, performance reviews, payroll and governmental compliance. We are looking for a positive career orientated person who is interested in being successful in our company, which is growing exponentially.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities:
· Work with Plant and Department Managers for staffing and company policy administration
· Onboarding of new employees in payroll company portal
· Prepares new employee files.
· Enroll employee in company benefits after 90-day Probationary period and annual OpenEnrollment
· Prepares Performance Review packets for managers
· Updates employee change requests and processes paperwork.
· Maintain employee schedules and attendance record
· Correct exceptions on employee’s timesheets
· Process PTO request
· Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
· Main HR contact for Payroll related audits
· Bi-weekly payroll processing
· Yearend documents with payroll company
· In-house 401k Plan Administrator, answering employee questions/concerns
· Main contact for benefit billing issues
· Administrates voluntary insurance products
· Track missed deductions and premium payments
· FMLA
· Process terminations
· Cobra administration
· Responsible for all state Unemployment accounts and claims
· Ensure government compliance
· Main back up for receptionist and finance department (occasionally)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Human Resource degree/certification(s)
Experience
· 2 plus years’ experience working in human resource concepts, practices, and procedures including payroll & audits
·2 plus years’ HR management
Skills
· Excel
