What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Organizer position at Susheela Jayapal for Congress?
Job duration: This is a temporary, seasonal position with an end date of May 21, 2024.
Hours: Flexible, minimum of 8 hours/week up to full-time are available. Evening and weekend work required.
Compensation: Compensation between $20-$30/hour depending on experience, paid twice monthly.
Description: During the Primary Election, our Field Organizers will reach out to voters door-to-door and on the phone to engage, energize, and elevate our campaign.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Learning and following a canvassing script, addressing questions from voters during conversations, learning talking points about the campaign and a personable attitude that will resonate with community members.
- Debriefing canvassing events, including reporting positive and negative interactions, documenting any difficult scenarios and communicating with our team routinely .
- Working with staff to get trained on canvassing systems, the script, and working with volunteers
Desired Experience: No experience necessary. We are open to first-time candidates interested in progressive campaigns! These desired qualifications and experiences are preferred, but not required.
- Campaign experience as field staff, community organizer, political staff, or similar positions, or prior experience as an organizer or in customer relations.
