Job DescriptionThe Customer Service Specialist provides outstanding customer service and administrative support for the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA), which includes staffing the reception desk, Information Desk, and the Susquehanna Club.
Responsibilities
- Answers phone calls and assists passengers with various questions regarding airport operations such as the terminal, parking garage and lots, concessionaires, airlines and flights, hotels, rental cars, taxis, and other topics relevant to airport users
- Is a team player and projects a pleasant, courteous, and professional image throughout the airport
- Oversees the reception/front desk area, which includes greeting guests for meetings, processing mail, and assisting with office supply inventory
- Assists with data collection and review and with creating reports and presentations in support of the Marketing Department, including Business Development, Route Development, and Property Management initiatives
- Assists with enrollment, fulfillment, and evaluation of SARAA programs, including, but not limited to, HIA Flyer Rewards, XpressPARK, Ground Transportation and Air Route Development Research, etc.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of forecasting and market research reporting
- Provides administrative support to Marketing department staff
- Performs any other duty or assignment as delegated by the proper authority
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and two years of related work experience in customer service and administrative services required; airport, airline, travel, or hospitality experience preferred, but not required
- Must have a valid PA driver’s license with a good driving record or the ability to obtain PA license within 30 days of hire date
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background and criminal investigation in order to be issued an Airport Identification Badge
- Ability to comprehend, retain, and follow spoken and written instructions
- Ability to exercise good judgment, work independently, make decisions, and organize and maintain detailed information.
- Must effectively set priorities
- Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations without precedent
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, and talk or hear
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, charts and graphs, policy and procedure manuals, or governmental regulations
- Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Must be able to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, shift personnel, clients, customers, and the general public
- Must have strong basic math skills in order to perform data analysis
Must be proficient with computer technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
