Under the direction of the Staff Nurse II, Team Leader or Manager of Patient Care Services, the Staff Nurse I provides direct care to patients using the nursing process of assessment: planning, implementation and evaluation, so that the physical, psycho-social, safety, rehabilitative and learning needs of patients and their families are addressed. This function is performed in association with nursing peers and co-workers, attending physicians and allied support services. This position is responsible for managing care of assigned patients and directing the activities of the ancillary staff.Med/Surg & ICU-SCU Unit: The Staff RN competently uses the nursing process, medical therapeutics, and technological and personal interventions to accomplish this. Actively participates in hospital quality assurance/improvement, risk management, clinical operations and customer service excellence.
Post Anesthesia Care Unit: The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Staff Nurse II provides direct care to surgical patients, with primary emphasis on the immediate postoperative period. The PACU Staff Nurse competently uses the nursing process, medical therapeutics, and technological and personal interventions in assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Associate's: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Bachelor's: Nursing

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
RN-Registered Nurse of California Upon Hire
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Novato Community Hospital, Department: Perioperative, 1-3 years Periop circulating and scrub experience within the last 5 years required
CNOR strongly preferred
MAB Training within 6 months of hire
Salary Range: 69.75-94.40
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
