Provides clerical and receptionist duties in a nursing unit. Responsible for knowing the philosophy, objectives, and policies of the Medical Center. Contributes to the development and maintenance of a communication system that promotes positive intra and interdepartmental working relationships. As a monitor Tech, responsible for monitoring EKG monitors for patients in the unit.Job Description:
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
EKG-Technician
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Recent experience or education as a Ward Clerk in health care environment or equivalent.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Basic computer skills required.
For monitor Tech duties, additional prerequisites for Telemetry.
Successful passing of EKG/arrhythmia recognition test (given at St Luke’s hospital).
Knowledge of English language w/strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in a diverse population.
Training skills required.
Basic keyboarding and computer skills
Must be able to work in a rapidly changing and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in emergent situations.
Pay Range: $26.39 - $35.31 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
