Job Description
Technical/Functional Skills
The Agile Release Manager is responsible for facilitating program level processes and execution, drives continuous development, manages risks and impediments and is full time chief scrum master for multiple agile workstreams. While a scrum master is responsible for ensuring a product team works effectively together, the Agile Release Manager is responsible for ensuring each of the product delivery teams are working effectively together, promoting collaboration and transparency using common agile methods and ceremonies.
Key functions include the following:
- Manage planning across multiple work streams by leading continuous exploration that drives the synthesis of an overall vision, roadmap and program backlog.
- Ensure program backlog features are mapped to respective product teams and assist in tracking/monitoring the execution and reporting same back to the program management team. Promptly escalate impediments.
- Drive, track and communicate progress of program sprints and releases.
- Be consistently available to field and manage requests driving from the product teams including impediments and other issues that are beyond the team’s scope of control. Engage program management and other team members as needed to unblock.
- Foster constructive and proactive communication across product teams to ensure full transparency of goals, priorities and decisions.
- Strive for continuous improvement by coaching product teams and scrum masters in lean-agile processes.
