The Sweet Encounter Bakery seeks a Bakery Manager who will work with the Owner to create high-quality baked goods, an inviting environment, and excellent customer service. Sweet Encounter Bakery is looking for a “Brand Ambassador” to assist the Owner in talent management, training, and development. This person will also execute-day-to day responsibilities and ensure that all team members follow Sweet Encounter Standards.
Responsibilities:
· Manage online order fulfillment and handles email requests for corporate accounts, catering orders, local fundraising, and marketing events.
· Partner with team members in all aspects of the guest experience, cake production, brand and merchandise presentation, and inventory control.
· Create/oversee scheduling for bakery team members.
· Create daily baking and production plans for the week.
- Responsible for inventory management; order necessary materials and equipment, ensure bakery is adequately stocked with quality baking ingredients and supplies.
· Assist with posting job openings, reviewing candidates, and conducting interviews.
- Appraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performance.
- Training staff to produce high-quality bakery items while following proper food handling procedures.
· Learn and maintain hands-on knowledge of all bakery roles and responsibilities to step in and perform various duties as needed.
- Ensure all bakery items meet the company’s gold standard. Inspect bakery items to ensure that established standards of quality, excellence, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met.
Requirements:
· Previous experience in a bakery setting or a passion for baking is preferred.
· Knowledge of basic baking techniques, measurements, and ingredients.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment.

Education Requirements/Skills:
- High School Diploma of GED; post-secondary education is a plus
- 1-3 years of guest-facing experience in a lead role
- Food handling certification is a plus but not required. (Must obtain safe certification within 30 days of employment)

- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and can engage, empower, and motivate the team and communicate effectively.
Compensation/Benefits:
· Starting at $20/hr. or higher, based on experience
· 40 hours a week (no overtime unless approved in advance by management)
· Opportunity for annual bonuses based on bakery profits
· Six month and yearly reviews; opportunity for pay raise
