Your Opportunity:
As our new Facilities , you will work to ensure that our plant machinery is running to optimum operational capacity. You will also be responsible for the monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing of facilities HVAC / Refrigeration and process equipment; completing new installations; changeovers; and preventative maintenance and vendor negotiations.
A Day In the Life:
- You will troubleshoot and repair molding and packaging equipment, complete new installations, and supervise changeovers
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, service and maintenance on heating, air conditioning, process refrigeration equipment, air handlers and systems found in industrial process manufacturing plant and supporting offices.
- Experience with HP Steam Boiler (60-90psi) and LP Hot Water Boiler
- Perform preventative / predictive maintenance as required and scheduled.
- Work with Parts Room Clerk and vendors to maintain adequate spare parts inventory.
- Some vendor and contractor negotiation required to supplement repair or installation.
- Oversee project work related to new equipment installation or retrofit.
- Daily inspection rounds to monitor boiler, hot water system, process refrigeration, building HVAC, water chiller and associated equipment.
- Daily inspection of boiler room including boiler blowdown, chemical treatment, chemical testing, water softener maintenance and associated equipment.
- Investigate process improvements, modifications and conversions to improve and maintenance equipment performance (Continuous Improvement).
- Provides emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during designated machine service times.
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
- Available for on-call emergency after hours work.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Mechanical certificate, journeyman’s training, millwright license or other technical or specialized equipment training is preferred
- 2-3 years working experience as a HVAC Mechanic in manufacturing setting.
- Universal HVAC Certification is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and work experience with production machinery
- Must be competent working with and troubleshooting motor controls and drives
- A solid understanding of pneumatics and hydraulic systems is required
- Basic electrical understanding and troubleshooting skills required
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing priorities
- Solid understanding of electrical motor controls, pumps, heat transfer and temperature controls.
- Excellent demonstrated mechanical ability and application of HVAC/R processes and equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of process line manufacturing equipment.
- Solid understanding of electrical motor controls, pumps, heat transfer and temperature controls.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics is preferred
- Experience in fabrication including MIG and TIG welding a solid plus
- Experience with PLC programming (ladder logic), building lighting and wiring up to 480 VAC including DC motor controls and circuits, temperature and pressure monitoring, and power distribution
- Incumbent must supply their own tools (list will be provided)
