What are the responsibilities and job description for the Continuous Improvement Specialist position at SWJ TECHNOLOGY, LLC?
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision this position plans manpower, processes, and equipment for KSP cells/workstations (Kitting, Sequencing, Pre-assembly) in the vehicle production plant. Ensure all processes are performed as efficiently as possible and verified through calculations and Continuous Improvement activities. Ensure CI-activities and additional inputs are implemented within safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for planning of manpower, processes, and equipment for KSP cells/workstations
· Revise and optimize layouts of KSP workstations and overall location in the building
· Plan and optimize by applying MTM timing method
· Industrial engineering various of KSP cells/workstations
· Detailed planning of value added and non-value-added times (MTM)
· Optimization of KSP cells with loads, replenish cycles and routes, walkways and potential integration of improvement steps to further reduce working times / manpower needs
· Moderation, coordination of CI workshops, and alignment on manpower needs with production
· Set-up of planned KSP workstations on shop floor and provide ramp-up support
· Continuous alignment of all activities between relevant departments.
· Follows and ensures all affected rules, policies and laws concerning safety and security
QUALIFICATIONS:
· This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Co-Op/ internship and/ or up to 2 years' professional experience in the following area(s):Industrial Engineering
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Use of software BoM, Dialog, ProPlan, Engineering Client and MicroStation
· Flexibility to support department needs and demands.
· Enhanced knowledge in PC applications. (WORD, EXCEL, MS Project, Power Point).
· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Capability to develop and support strategic directions and concepts for the organization.
· Ability to communicate efficiently with all necessary parties.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
· Knowledge of Industrial Engineering methods and procedures.
· Ability to clearly communicate information, both verbally and in writing.
· Experience in project management
· MTM time method
· Out-of-the box thinking
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
· Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
· Location: Vance, Alabama
· Schedule: Day Shift
· Core Hours: 40 hours per week
· Weekly Overtime: As needed.
· Weekend Work: As needed.
· Assignment Start: ASAP
· End Date: 12 Month Contract
