What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at SWJ TECHNOLOGY, LLC?
PURPOSE:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and improving manufacturing activities in order to sustain and/or improve the overall quality performance. He would also be responsible as direct customer liaison to lead cross-functional team for quality problem investigation, defect containment, determination of root cause, development, and implementation of countermeasures, and follow up to confirm countermeasure effectiveness. He is also responsible for creation and maintenance of all APQP and PSW process documentation to support and continuously improve all Quality systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers equipment procurement and participates in trial runs, demonstrations of new equipment and/or process capabilities. Acts as a liaison to builders, customers, and production.
- Helps to identify and implement cost-reduction improvements for both new and existing equipment and processes by investigating and determining more cost-efficient methods, including scrap reduction projects.
- Provides technical support to all production and engineering by going to the point of operation and troubleshooting the issue, determining root cause, and feeding forward to other processes.
- Administers the design of equipment, tooling, and production processes for new and/or existing business by following the engineering standards and machine specs.
- Assist in APQP process development and/or improvements by making sure tasks are completed and within deadline and budget constraints.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2-3 years Quality experience, preferably automotive.
- Preference for experience with customer interface.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to travel within the manufacturing area via main aisle ways with periodic entry to confined spaces for detail equipment review.
- Full range of motion with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires keyboarding and computer usage.
FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
- Location: Scottsboro, AL
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Core Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekly Overtime: As needed.
- Weekend Work: As needed.
- Assignment Start: ASAP
