Job Summary:
The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for supporting the maintenance team to
enhance efficiency and prevent malfunctions that could lead to costly repairs. To
do this, the associate is responsible for performing highly diversified duties with
the maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s
business goals and objectives. Maintenance Clerk responsibilities include receiving
and storing inventories, performance of periodic and perpetual inventories,
logging withdrawal and return of parts and tools, requisitioning stock items and
record keeping As an important member of the Maintenance Team, the successful
team member will be an energetic team player who will assist with the
Maintenance and Purchasing departments in tracking, organizing, ordering and
maintaining the maintenance equipment, parts and tools. The Clerk will also
provide coverage for requisitioning parts for Management/Supervisor in their
Absence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrates general understanding of industrial safety practices and
regulations, in particular such topics as: Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, Fall
protection, Personal protective equipment, and all other mandatory safety
procedures related to the job.
- Responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and
Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality
and quantity of product produced
- Under the guidance of more experienced team members, document
corrective and preventive maintenance activities of systems and equipment
as needed.
- Use Reference Resources “workbooks, procedures, equipment manuals, and
drawings” to complete basic system problem solving
- Maintain work area, maintenance shop, parts and supplies area cleaned and
organized
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
- Daily physical inventory
- Manage incoming maintenance orders
- Maintain equipment records in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance
Management System)
- Record stock issues and returns
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Manage and track returns and repairs, as needed
- Planning and creating work orders-as needed
- Work closely with the Purchasing Team, and Maintenance to ensure support
for available inventory
- Keep parts room and work area clean, organized, and safe
- Administration of inventory purchase orders, requisitions, and sourcing
- Coordinate shipping of materials
- Administration of maintenance and purchasing documentation
- Additional administrative duties that support the maintenance team
Qualifications & Skills
- 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting, maintenance environment
preferred
- CMMS system experience preferred
- Previous parts person/buyer experience would be an asset
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- Be flexible, reliable and well organized
- Have personal integrity and the drive to do what is best
- Work and disciplinary record will be considered
- Good verbal, reading, writing and basic math skills
- Technical degree in maintenance or equivalent work experience, a plus.
- Basic Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to work both independently and in multiple team environments
- Good communication and Teamwork skills
- Able to read blueprints and shop drawings and the ability to generate rough
sketches as needed, is a plus
- Basic mathematical and reading skills with willingness to handle paperwork
- Mechanically inclined and have the ability to use all standard tools of the
trade including: hand tools, power tools, and machine shop tools.
- Basic electromechanical knowledge, demonstrate ability to use electrical
tools including electrical test meters. Detail Oriented
- Self-motivated and ability to work without constant supervision and meet
deadlines Basic Computer Skills
- Physically able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to:
sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, reaching and pulling.
- Must be able to frequently lift 25 to 60 pounds
