Job Title
Human Resources Coordinator
Summary
The HR Coordinator works closely with the Human Resources Team to assist in daily activities. And assists with guiding employees through various human resource processes, answering any questions they may have about policies. Coordinator may also assist with administering benefits, providing data for payroll processing and any questions that may arise. Take an active role in ensuring all human resource functions are complying with local, State and Federal regulations.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, (able to work remote 2 days per week)
Roles and Responsibilities
~Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative and the principles of Cultural Humility.
- Develop community and college recruiting presence
- Source and utilize various posting venues
- Post job announcements internally and externally
- Send offer letters and submit background checks for onboarding employees
- Conduct reference checks, follow up with hiring managers on new hire status
- Work with Directors/Managers to change job descriptions as needed
- HR Data base updates: employee information, talent acquisition information on Kronos Order business cards, name plates, and issue ID badges for employees
- Update org chart and staff directory on regular schedule for UD meetings
- Coordinate and track training
- Track and maintain database for mandated TB testing
- Support or conduct new employee orientation
- Process paperwork and maintain employee records
- Track DMV Pull Program
- Assist with conducting new employee on-boarding meetings and benefits meetings
- Assist with special events: annual picnic, holiday party and other events
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or 2 - years of HR experience, preferably in a non- profit setting
- Attention to detail
- Track and maintain database for mandated TB testing
- Strong decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong database management, reporting, and internet skills
- Organized and able to prioritize responsibilities
- The ability to walk up and down stairs, sit for prolonged periods, lift and move up to 25lbs
- Employee must be able to carry out the essential duties of the position within what can be considered reasonable accommodation
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable with working around an at-risk population, including embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative

Compensation is based on a competitive public interest salary scale. Swords to Plowshares offers a generous benefits package including the following:
