SYLVAN LEARNING CENTER (K-12 TUTORING/EDUCATION)
Sylvan of Long Beach is looking for enthusiastic people to join their team!
For over 40 years, we have specialized in providing personalized 3:1 instruction to students in grades K through 12th in the following subjects: Reading, Math, Study Skills, Writing, and SAT/ACT Prep. All of our lesson plans are common core aligned.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Admins/Teacher Assistants are responsible for leading the day-to-day administrative tasks in the Center such as phone reception, word processing, data entry, filing, answering inquiries, scheduling assistance, sending reminder text and emails, and other administrative tasks. Admins/TA provide a positive first impression for potential and existing customers, field calls from customers, schedule appointments, and may help coordinate community and school marketing events. This position is ideal for someone transitioning to the administrative sector or someone who would like more experience in the education field. An admin/TA may be required to tutor for a limited amount of time during their shift and perform their regular duties thereafter. They will work closely with Center Director and Program Managers so organization skills and communication skills are a must!

We are looking for a commitment of three to six days per week, with Saturday mornings optional.
Our Regular (Academic) Instructional Hours are Monday – Friday 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Our Summer and Holiday Instructional Hours are Monday – Friday 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

- We are limiting the capacity in our center to 40%

- All students and staff are temperature checked and must wash their hands before their sessions.
- All students and staff members must wear a mask.
- All tables and iPads are sanitized between sessions.
- Guidelines for safety are posted in the Center.
