Job Profile Summary
This position demonstrates leadership for the maintenance department by ensuring that work orders get completed efficiently and timely. They will be responsible for coordinating employees’ work in the maintenance department to produce a quality job at the lowest cost while adhering to SHE policies. They will facilitate/prioritize the activities of all shifts to ensure that the optimum performance levels are achieved for safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping in accordance with management guidelines while creating and developing a team environment. They will coordinate with contractors and vendors to acquire quotes and process purchase orders. This role will also be the primary site contact for contracted maintenance work and will also be responsible for processing and tracking maintenance capitalization projects for the department. The position requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign daily work priorities to maintenance personnel
- Manage daily work schedule, optimize productivity, address daily permitting, and rectify daily quality issues
- Participate in RCA for equipment failures
- Communicate critical information to shift personnel
- Lead daily maintenance schedule meetings and performance board discussion
- Create/close work orders in the CMMS
- Assist with vendor/contractor quoting
- Identify hazards and demonstrate safety-first actions
- Escalate issues to Plant Engineer as needed
- Serve as a resource in defining PM instructions
- Oversee contractors, including PTW, and ensure that work completed is aligned with expectations
- Update maintenance information in CMMS (Maintenance Items, Plans, Equipment, etc.)
- Track and report on maintenance KPIs
- Lead Maintenance Capitalization projects for the department when large purchases are needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership position within the maintenance /facilities department in manufacturing
- Exceptional demonstrated leadership skills required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and coach employees
- Good understanding of maintenance responsibilities
- Strong PC skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS)
Desirable Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Technical Field
- 10 years’ experience in maintenance of specialty chemicals/plastics manufacturing
