Job Summary:

Oversee the customer claims process.  Work closely with the Finance Manager on month end close tasks and in preparation of monthly financial reporting packages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the customer claims process.  Review and analyze credit requests and supporting documentation and obtain appropriate approval according to Sysco policy.  Resolve aged claims to ensure all credits are processed within 30 days.
• Prepare journal entries as part of the month-end close process and ensure that assigned tasks related to the month end close are completed timely and accurately.
• Responsible for preparing key internal monthly financial reports and presentation materials for monthly and quarterly business reviews.
• Support the Finance Manager in submission of the annual plan and monthly forecast in BPC.
• Review and analyze key balance sheet accounts to ensure that appropriate support has been retained for the reconciliations.
• Actively review and identify processes and accounts that are not in line with management expectations.  Work with Finance Manager to identify causes, provide solution and recommend controls to be implemented where necessary.

Education Required:

• HS Diploma

Education Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent

Experience Required:

• 3-5 years prior accounting/finance experience

Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced computer skills required, proficient with MS office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with 10-key calculator
• Must be able to analyze data and draw logical conclusions and recommendations
• Proficient mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent accuracy, record keeping, organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and follow up skills
