Position: Material Handling Laborer
Reports To: Program Manager
Department: DEA Mailroom and Warehouse
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Supervises:
None
General Function
This position will require physical tasks to transport, load, unload, move or store materials. Will prepare and arrange materials and products in bulk and non-bulk forms for distribution and storage.
Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
- Assist with services required in the supply room
- Moving items from one area to another or placing them on or removing them from the area
- Manually loading and unload freight cars, trucks, or other transporting devices
- Unpacking, shelving, or placing items in proper storage locations
- Transporting goods by hand truck, cart, or other moving devices
- Traveling on trucks to and from different locations to transport, load, or unload materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must be physically able to perform the assigned work which includes lifting boxes weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds independently but will be required to move heavier with assistance.
- Required to use SC Logic
- Drug Screen and Background Check: Pass with the ability to maintain throughout employment.
- Requires a Secret Level Security Clearance
- Must meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements under EO14042
Minimum Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of direct material handler experience
Required Contacts
- SysCom, Inc. staff, executives and management.
- Serves as liaison between department and other departments as well as with outside customers, regulatory personnel, and organizations, etc.
