System One is currently seeking an Electrical Field Engineer on a 12 month contact position located in Jamaica, NY.
Electrical Field Engineer Responsibilities:
- Manage a cross functional project team in both an office and site environment to close out the project.
- Ensure that the project is constructed, tested, inspected, and documented in accordance with the project specifications
- Manage all engineering and construction closeout activities.
- Ensure all Electrical, Instrumentation & Control and Mechanical systems are complete and acceptable prior to being turned over and also preparing the turnover documentation associated with each system
- Participate in and lead system walkdowns with client to assemble final punch items
- Track progress of the Contractor to insure schedule activities are being completed on time. Takes required action if activities are falling behind schedule.
- Insures the project is being completed in compliance with design standards and applicable codes and quality standards established for the project.
- Insures that comprehensive safety standards are implemented and enforced.
- Prepares and submits daily, and weekly and monthly progress reports to the internal stakeholders.
- Reviews and evaluates all change order requests.
- Maintains daily communication with Management on the progress of the work and any problems that would affect the completion of the Project.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Electrical Field Engineer Requirements:
- 15 years of combined experience related to construction, commissioning & startup, as well as turnover coordination in support of large power plant EPC projects.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Good problem solving and analytical ability.
- Ability to resolve disputes.
- Good verbal, writing management and team building skills.
