Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will function as a technical specialist for Federal projects focused on resiliency, redundancy, and reliability. You may have the opportunity to supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity or serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise. 
As a designer, you will perform the following: 
- Provide controls design solutions for federal facilities inclusive of MILCON facilities such as headquarters, data centers, equipment maintenance facilities, hangars, housing, training centers, etc. as well as intelligence/command centers, generation stations, high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) protected facilities, secure compartmented information facilities (SCIF) designs, laboratories, aviation facilities and other types of federal facilities.
- Design Power Control & Monitoring Systems (PCMS) for controlling switchgear, generators, ATS, UPS, etc.
- Design Building Management Systems (BMS) for controlling HVAC, lighting, security, etc.
- Produce design drawings, control system specifications, and design analysis documents.
- Develop sequence of operations to govern how different system components should interact to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Develop input/output (I/O) list for the controls system inclusive of points required to support achieving various functional modes within the sequence of operations.
- Develop cost estimates and materials lists.
- Coordinate with BIM/CAD team for drawing production, utilizing Bluebeam for drawing markups.
- Collaborate with large project teams and client stakeholders (including high-ranking military officials) on conceptual designs, design reviews, etc.
- Travel to various sites, both internationally and domestically, to collect data and/or attend meetings.
- May be asked to assist with developing commissioning plans inclusive of individual component and integration testing procedures As a project lead, you will perform the following:
- Review/mentor lower-level engineering work or assignments for accuracy, clarity, and coordination.
- Brief client stakeholders on technical aspects of controls systems throughout project development and execution.
- Manage assigned budgets, schedules, and quality requirements as well as establish work plan for projects.
Skills: Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure required. No preference on state.
- You will be assigned to projects for U.S. Government Agency/Department clients. Thus, the candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Mission critical, redundant controls systems design experience
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC)
- Familiarity with the applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
- CxA (Commissioning Authority) certification and experience
- Active US security clearance, or ability to obtain one
