Computer Technician Level I
Systemwide
32.5 hours a week (10 months)
2024-2025 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in educational technology and software implementation.
- Two years or more of post-secondary education.
- Interest in and understanding of children.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the instruction of students in basic computer operations and appropriate use.
- Assist staff in using technology for educational instruction and personal productivity purposes.
- Be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of current software that includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office and Google G Suite.
- Assists in troubleshooting technology issues.
- Perform routine preventative care of equipment including cleaning
- Maintain a current inventory of all school-based equipment
- Install and uninstall computer software.
- Make modifications to operating procedures and programs to improve the efficiency of the system.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
- Basic computer installation, setup and repairs.
- Maintaining and repairing technological equipment and peripheral devices
- Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
- Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
- Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
- Keep records of repairs and through ticket system for future reference
- Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
- Such other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
