A skilled cake decorator to design and decorate cakes according to customers' specifications and preferences. The cake decorator's responsibilities include taking customers' cake orders, recording instructions and special requests, providing suitable recommendations on cake decorations and designs, and packaging bakery items.
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Designing and decorating cakes in different styles
- Fulfilling customer requests, and customized cake orders on time
- Determining cake prices as per the design requirements
- Suggesting suitable cake designs and decoration options
- Maintaining an inventory of cake decorating items and ingredients
- Ensuring artistic and appealing cake designs
- Checking the shelf life of cake decoration products, colors, and accessories
- Using decorating and modeling techniques and tools for creating intricate designs
- Checking and placing decoration product reorders with suppliers and vendors
- Perform general cleaning duties
- Operate tools and equipment safely
- Greet and talk politely with customers
- Help and assist customers in finding merchandise and providing information
- Comply with supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude
- Function as a team member and get along with others
- Adhere to daily work schedule
- Work weekends, any shift, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Physical requirements
- Grasping, bending, twisting, squatting,
- Move, lift (minimum height of 4' on a regular basis), and carry a minimum of 50lbs
- Walk, stand, climb ladders, be on feet the entire shift
- Push/pull a loaded stock cart
- Demonstrate above-average manual dexterity
Education and Experience
A High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous industry experience preferred
N.M. Food Handlers Permit (will certify)
Age requirement
Minimum age 18
