About the Position
The HR Consultant is a key role in the HR Shared Services team consulting and advising associates and leaders across a broad array of Associate Relations matters. This role supports questions or requests moving through the HR case management platform. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring an efficient, consultative, and thoughtful response to resolving cases. This role will also act as a resource to the HR Business Partner team in the execution of HR projects or programs.
Role Summary
Requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in employee relations and solid understanding of related disciplines. Requires strategic thinking while delivering work that has complexity and working with and influencing a range of stakeholders to create value for the firm. Leads projects or work streams within broader projects and programs. Implements and monitors moderately complex human resources programs and delivers sophisticated analytics and reporting.
This role is responsible for handling workplace investigations and providing advice and counsel to management and associates on workplace matters to help promote a fair and equitable environment. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of own work.
May provide guidance to less experienced team members, as needed, and contributes to the achievement of team goals. Handles inquiries from associates about their own needs and leadership about management practices. This role is within our HR Shared Services team leveraging a case management system to manage requests for consultation.
Responsibilities
- Completes implementation and monitoring activities for a variety of human resource programs. Monitors trends and makes recommendations for program development, issue resolution, and/or improvements.
- Aligns human resource programs with business priorities and the completion of analyses to measure effectiveness of programs in achieving desired results.
- Contributes to the assessment of functional strategies for assessing leadership improvements.
- Assists with the implementation and execution of an effective framework for various human resource programs such as succession planning, talent management, coaching, and team structure.
- Works independently to diagnose and resolve employee relations issues consistent with policy and practices.
- Utilizes data from surveys, reports, and other means to identify trends; works with leaders to proactively address concerns and challenges.
- Collaborates with peers and applies considerable working and theoretical knowledge of human resource advisory concepts to develop effective solutions in support of business unit or human resource initiatives.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 5 years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HR professional
- Strong project management experience
- A robust understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid decision-making skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Experience in an HR shared services environment is desirable.

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
