The Kitchen Supervisor will collaborate with the GM and oversee daily kitchen operations as they are responsible for supervising the team, the products, and the service in the best interest of the business. - Responsible for maintaining decision-making authority and collaborating with GM to oversee all kitchen operations including daily supervision and delegation of tasks
- Maintain an active role in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching and developing each member of the team to help them reach their full potential as bad-ass Taco Jockeys
- Oversee training of kitchen personnel in cleanliness, techniques, and safe operation of all kitchen equipment
- Utilize weekly chef report to supervise food costs and diligently monitor food portioning to ensure consistency and highest level of profitability
- Ensure all food and products are consistently prepared according to Taco Reho’s recipes & standards
- Perform daily line checks prior to service and detailed station checkouts prior to staff clocking out
- Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points
- Monitor & control labor percentages and ensure staff levels are maintained to meet business needs
- Work with Food Truck Manager to ensure truck is fully stocked to meet gig demands
- Organize prep lists for incoming shifts and properly enforce food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain cleaning schedules for kitchen areas and equipment and supervise kitchen facility maintenance duties
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other La Vida units to maintain constructive working relationships
- Assist with daily, weekly & monthly inventory as needed; supervise ordering including timely ordering from purveyors utilizing preferred vendors, receiving orders and ensuring proper quality & quantity upon delivery
- Prepare all required paperwork including forms, reports & schedules in a timely manner
- Collaborate with team to create specials and communicate 86’d items to management & staff
- Be a team player and fill in where needed to ensure goals & business demands are met
- Ensure staff has proper tools & knowledge to do their job effectively and take appropriate action when expectations are not met
- Consistently maintain a positive, uplifting, and encouraging attitude no matter what - during the good, the bad, AND the ugly
- Live the brand and be a brand ambassador, making decisions in the best interest of the company at all times
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of fast-paced kitchen experience with a culinary-trained background preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Hospitality-driven mindset with a passion for culinary excellence
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- MacGyver-like problem-solving abilities and organizational skills
