Computer Specialist – (1) Camp Lejuene, (2) Camp Pendleton, (3) Okinawa

Position Description
The Computer Specialist reports to the Regional Manager and is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in computer systems and warehousing efforts in support of the Marine Corps Consolidated Storage Program (CSP). This includes providing direction, coordination, and implementation of automated systems to include Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) functions, reports, and optimization. The primary objective of the CSP is to provide organizational-level and individual-level issuance, recovery, storage, requisitioning, maintenance, repair, and management (e.g. visibility, accountability, automated shelf-life management, and forecasting) for equipment to support the warfighter. Serving the Marine Corps Logistics Command, the CSP is the Marine Corps’ designated manager of fielded ICE, CBRN-D, STAP and SWS&CN. Via a centrally-managed global network of regional and individual base facilities, CSP ensures that Marines worldwide have a single access point for serviceable equipment to meet their mission requirements.
There are currently three openings, one in each location: (1) Camp Lejuene in Jacksonville, NC; (2) Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA; and (3) Okinawa.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Access the DPAS Government System to identify transactions for local warehouse.
- Consolidate local warehouse transactions for verifiability against the DPAS Government System.
- Performs data analysis of materials to determine optimum levels and solve inventory problems.
- Review processes monthly to identify areas of potential process improvement (CPI) and provide a report.
- Provides standard weekly reports to the Regional Manager identifying gaps between local inventory and DPAS.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Supervisory & management authority: (1) Supervises assigned inventory control personnel. (2) Sets work procedures, priorities, levels of responsibility, and objectives. (3) Trains employees as needed; may correct and discipline; may assign and direct work. (4) Determines the means, methods and materials for performing work and plans the work operation.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience as military Supply occupational specialty preferred.
- Knowledge of USMC MOS of 3043 or 3051, Army MOS 92Y, Air Force AFSC 2S051, and Navy Logistics Specialist (LS).
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
- Must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC) investigation to obtain base access and DoD computer system access.
- Must have great interpersonal strong attention to detail and be able to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
- Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills.
- In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the warehouse.
- Proven experienced with inventory control practices and logistics.
- Comfortable using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications.
