Job Overview - Physical Therapist (PT):
Step into a key role in the Bronx, NY, as a Physical Therapist (PT), providing therapeutic services to students with multiple disabilities and visual impairments. In this position, you’ll focus on enhancing mobility and function while creating a positive, safe learning environment.
Compensation: $53 - $57/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Physical Therapist:
- Therapy Services: Recommend therapeutic exercises and activities to address mobility issues and improve functional independence.
- Equipment & Orthotics: Assess and recommend adaptive mobility equipment and orthotics to improve posture and function.
- IEP Goals: Structure interventions to meet students' IEP goals and maintain records for progress and compliance.
- Evaluations: Perform evaluations and recommend goals, participating in IEP meetings when needed.
- Consultation: Provide ongoing consultation and guidance to parents for therapy carryover at home.
Qualifications for the Physical Therapist:
- Licensure: New York State License as a Physical Therapist.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
- Experience: Experience working with students with special needs, including blindness/visual impairments and multiple disabilities, in a school/pediatric setting.
