Position: Sales Development Respresentative
Classification: Full-time, Regular, Non-Exempt
Office Setting/Location: In Office 5 days a week in either LA, NYC, Orlando, or Nashville
Salary: $24-$28 hourly
Overall job purpose or summary of the job
The role of the Sales Development Representative is to support the wider TAG Sales team with the aim of winning and expanding TAG’s client base. The primary focus of the Sales Development Representative is to seek quality new leads, source warm lead opportunities, qualify prospective new business, and secure appointments for the Sales team to follow up.
This position has responsibility for using proactive approaches to identify and contact potential new clients and existing business customers.
Essential functions of the job
· Use proactive outbound approaches such as emails and calls to seek and generate quality new leads.
· Research client and partner/supplier accounts to establish key players and source warm lead opportunities.
· Contact potential new clients and existing business customers to secure appointments and set prospect meetings for the Sales team to follow up.
· Efficiently respond to and qualify inbound potential leads.
· Gain a comprehensive understanding of client needs and provide in-depth handovers to the Sales team.
· Run the full end-to-end Sales process for smaller customer opportunities.
· Assess TAG’s current client base among internal divisions and external target markets to find avenues of opportunity.
· Assess historic prospects to make contact with new or developing leads, updating records accordingly.
· Help create strategically developed target lists and prioritize top prospects.
· Maintain the CRM tool (Salesforce) to expand the prospects list and keep records fully updated to be available and utilized across all Sales and BDM teams.
· Monitor relevant social media platforms to spot trigger events and utilize such activity to promote/post interest in TAG’s services with direct contact follow-up.
· Ensure accurate and timely processing of all tasks and projects.
· Respond to all communications and correspondence proactively, promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
· Adhere to PCI regulations in accordance with Company policy.
· Understand TAG’s service philosophy and company objectives to pursue compatible leads.
· Ensure consistent awareness of company and industry developments to remain suitably and effectively knowledgeable.
· Support the Sales team with all Sales-related activity, including nurturing potential client leads through to securing account wins.
· Complete continuous research and keep awareness of Sales and Business Development methods to continually develop knowledge and skills.
· Escalate anything of significance, positive or negative, to the Sales and Commercial management teams.
· Create a variety of spreadsheets and documents.
· Complete any other general administrative tasks as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, experience and skills
· High school diploma or equivalent (required)
· 2 or 4-year degree in related field (preferred)
OR
· In lieu of education, equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
· Comprehensive knowledge of the TMC market and key client-base
· Experience in a Sales or Tele-sales environment with sales-based KPIs
· Demonstrated success in a similar role
· Competency using the Salesforce platform (or other CRM/equivalent)
· Proven record of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
· Excellent interpersonal, networking, verbal, and written communication skills
· Highly motivated and results-driven with a determined attitude to achieving KPIs and company objectives
· Ability to negotiate and influence a wide range of people at all levels of business
· Ability to research, source, share, and record information effectively and accurately
· Strong presentation skills for a variety of audiences and sizes
