Hub Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely deliveries to the stores
- Direct daily activities of HUB personnel
- Help HUB employees receive, process, load, and unload merchandise and
- freight
- Drive HUB routes and deliver merchandise to stores
- Pack and ship merchandise as required
- Adjust HUB routes as necessary to ensure HUB delivery schedules are met
- Assess current and future needs of the operation and make necessary recommendations to management
- Scan all drivers’ logs and tuxedo manifests into and out of the HUB
- Reconcile data entry errors, transfer discrepancies and pending transfers
- Ensure security of all merchandise, equipment, and tools
- Ensure only appropriate persons are accessing HUB facilities
- Assume ownership of shrink and make necessary action
- Review financial metrics for HUB
- Identify opportunities for Cost Savings and make recommendations to Management
- Perform driving function within the parameters set forth by the Transportation Safety department
- Perform facility and equipment inspections and arrange for maintenance
- Ensure that work areas are clean and safe
- Report all injuries to up-line management on a timely basisDiscuss operational issues, personnel issues and metrics with Transportation
- Manager and other management members
- Discuss business objectives and the results of the team’s efforts with HUB employees
- Talk with store operations management to discuss issues relevant to store deliveries
- Maintain confidential information
- Actively support corporate mission statement
- Observe behaviors and work habits of employees
- Write HUB employee performance evaluations
- Evaluate training needs for employees
- Train HUB employees with regard to operations and personnel management
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with stores, customers and vendors
- Provide regular communication and feedback to employee
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum 2 years driving experience
- Training will be provided
- Valid driver’s license (Class A or Class B CDL is preferred but not required)
- Able to pass a Company road test
- Able to pass a DOT physical, including drug screen
- Good driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in past 24 months or 3 moving violations in past 36 months
- No DUI, DWI in the last 10 years
- Must never have tested positive for a controlled substance
- No more than 1 preventable (DOT recordable) accident in past 12 months
- Familiarity with the market and neighboring cities and surroundings
- Transportation management experience preferably in a fast-paced, high volume distribution center environment
- Previous experience supervising in a logistics environment a plus
- Hands-On leadership role supervising at least five or more direct reports a plus
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements
Intermediate to advance PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) required - Knowledge and understanding of fleet maintenance processes and procedures
- Ability to supervise and ensure a great working environment for staff in a contextual management setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (i.e. with staff, store personnel, etc.)
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with management and all levels within the organization

Physical Requirements
- Able to sit and remain alert while driving for a period of at least 10 hours
Shift manual transmission with use of foot pedals - Drive 15 ft. - 26 ft. automatic transmission box trucks with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW
- Reach above shoulder, at waist level and below waist level to maneuver and direct controls to operate truck
- Squat or crouch to handle or position freight
- Enter and exit vehicle cab minimum of 8-10 times per day. Entry and exit will be achieved with the assistance of various steps, footholds, and handholds. This requires additional bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching, and balancing
- Push and/or pull 500 or more pounds on a dolly cart or manual pallet jack
Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds without the aid of mechanical equipment at a minimal distance of 12 feet - Frequently reach for freight at waist level, above the shoulder, or below the waist, with required movement to left or right
- Must work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to use material handling equipment (MHE) and radio-frequency (RF) hand-held scanners and other materials necessary for the delivery and packaging of our merchandise
