Job Description
This role is responsible for assisting the Resilience, Fraud and Security Team in the establishment and maintenance of TAL’s Third-party Governance and Risk Management Program and ongoing Business Continuity and Crisis Management Planning.
In this role you will:
- Assist with the implementation of a framework and documentation for an enterprise-wide Third-party Governance and Risk Management Program including review of the existing third-party security reviews required under CPS 234.
- Be responsible for organising and coordinating the Third-party Governance and Risk Management project working group, also liaising with the Steering Committee on key actions and directives.
- Take a leading role in the design and implementation of a sustainable process for ongoing monitoring and management of third-parties.
- Assist in the investigation and selection of a third-party/vendor management solution with integrated reporting and analytics capability.
- Undertake a review of current onboarding processes for new third-parties and review associated termination procedures.
- Develop approach to improve visibility and assessment of fourth-parties.
- Understand controls and control gaps for all third-parties and work with Line 1 Risk Representatives and Vendor / Business Relationship Managers to source accurate and up to date information.
- Investigate opportunity to engage external providers for rating and assessment of third-parties and extend negative news screening to third-party service providers.
- Assist with current rationalisation work being conducted on existing third-parties.
- Prepare and deliver training to Line 1 Risk Representative and Vendor / Business Relationship Managers on the Third-party Governance and Risk Management framework and ongoing requirements.
- Assist with the uplift in capability for incident management, crisis management and business continuity within the organisation.
- Support TAL’s response to emergency, crisis and business disruption incidents as they occur.
- Assist in ensuring that all requirements of the relevant APRA guidance (e.g. CPS 232 – Business Continuity Management & PPG 233 – Pandemic Planning and Risk Management) are addressed within TAL.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to lead a project team.
- Proven ability to work as a team member, with a strong stakeholder consultation and management focus.
- Sound ability to analyse, isolate & interpret business needs and risks, and develop appropriate solutions.
- Proven success in leading organisation wide change management initiatives.
- Proven stakeholder management, influencing and negotiating skills.
- Strong ability to work autonomously.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in related Risk or Financial Services roles (Degree in a related field - Business, IT etc.).
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of life insurance industry.
- Understanding of the role of the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) as it relates to the life insurance industry.
- An understanding of internal control frameworks.
- Business analysis skills (i.e., an ability to analyse systems and processes identify drivers/inputs, dependencies and interrelationships).
- Strong understanding of Third-party risk management frameworks, practices and planning.
- Experience with implementation or management of a Third-party / Vendor management program.
