LOCATION: REMOTE W2 ASSIGNMENT
OVERVIEW:
The Senior Payroll Analyst position is recognized as having business expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems related to payroll systems and processes. Undertakes highly complex projects requiring additional specialized business knowledge and decision making that will influence others across the organization.
This role is a bridge between Tech and Payroll Processing, Payroll Tax and Garnishment teams. This resource needs to be technical and knowledgeable of Payroll teams functions. Troubleshooting and testing will be a main focus of this position. Must be analytical – Advanced Excel skills are necessary – Pivot Tables. Position is a Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for Payroll Processing, Payroll Tax, and Oracle HCM.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works with management and individual team leaders by contributing strategic vison and integrating a broad range of ideas regarding business solution development.
- Works with internal and external customers suppliers and other partners to resolve problems, respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements, test, refine, and institutionalize solutions.
- Contribute high-level expertise in business processes and system analysis while considering the business implications to the current and future business environment.
- Continuously develops advanced knowledge of assigned applications utilizing vendor websites user groups and training to effectively utilize system capabilities.
- Mentor other team members and is recognized as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Partners with the team to understand design decisions based upon documented requirements, current configuration, and downstream impacts. Perform validations related to migrations, releases, upgrades, and/or patches, mitigating risk/downstream impacts.
- Engages Technical Team Members and/or Vendors for support as necessary. Documents unit integration and acceptance testing. Plans and monitors overall workflow to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Evaluates current training methods and materials and recommends improvements. Reviews and creates training as needed.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: No formal supervisory responsibilities required for this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to co-workers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower-level employees.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle HCM, MS Office, Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot Tables).
- Bachelor’s degree is Required (preferably in Business).
- 5-8 years of experience in Payroll Processing/Payroll Tax or Finance is required.
- Troubleshooting and testing experience required.
- Analytical with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- May need to attend after hours calls with the offshore team.
