Position Description:
- Gather, extract, manipulate, analyze and model data using analytical and statistical tools; acquire data from primary and secondary databases; identify trends and risks
- Trains new staff on systems; evaluates training needs and retrains staff at as needed
- Ensure data accuracy; filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Analyze system functionality to identify system errors, ensure data integrity and accuracy
- Audits electronic data on a test basis for inconsistencies, inaccuracies and missing data; communicates to appropriate management team
- Ensures accurate and timely configuration and implementation of system
- Meets with staff/team(s) monthly; work with management to prioritize business and information needs; interpret data
- Identify system issues and assist in correcting errors and improving processes; participation in compliance investigations
- Require knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, funder and other regulations; identify new funding streams and what impact they will have on systems
- Coordinate completion of various reports for funders, management and other customers as needed to support timely and business decisions, as well as to support evaluation and other requests as needed
- Prioritize business needs with Director of Revenue Cycle Management and Director of Quality & Compliance
- Monitor systems/vendors for new functionality which may be available to enhance service delivery, business needs and/or increase compliance.
- Cross-train with others to ensure no interruptions to service/support for all electronic health record systems (i.e., Carelogic, Athena, SecurManage)
- Write and maintain technical standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency in applications
- Identify areas for system integration for enhancement of care coordination for persons served
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical material and to effectively communicate information to a variety of audiences
- Use statistical analysis, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- High level of confidentiality, including all HIPAA requirements
- Commitment to continuous improvement in organizing and technical systems
- Expertise with data analytics tools like MS-Excel, SQL, SPSS, SAS, XML, JavaScript, ETL framework or R; data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Ability to interpret regulations, standards and contracts to effectively communicate information and ensure compliance is maintained
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Statistics, Finance or Accounting, Compliance or equivalent experience
- 3 years experience in data analytics, preferably within the behavioral health or related industry
